Brief Life History of Poul Christian

When Poul Christian Larsen was born on 24 October 1839, in Jetsmark, Ålborghus, Denmark, his father, Lars Pedersen, was 26 and his mother, Else Sorensen, was 22. He married Johanna Marie Poulsen on 22 November 1866, in Bjergby, Vennebjerg, Hjørring, Denmark. They were the parents of at least 8 sons and 2 daughters. He lived in Jetsmark, Hvetbo, Hjørring, Denmark in 1850 and Rubjerg, Vennebjerg, Hjørring, Denmark for about 10 years. He died on 2 July 1899, in Hjorring Sankt Catherainæ, Sankt Catharinæ, Sejlstrup, Denmark, at the age of 59, and was buried in Hjørring, Nordjylland, Denmark.

1847 · Casino Theatre (Copenhagen)

The Casino Theatre was built as an entertainment center by Georg Carstensen but was converted into a theatre in 1848. After many years of never gaining popularity, it was closed in 1937 and demolished in 1960.

Denmark becomes a constitutional monarchy. A two-chamber parliament is established.

1859 · Copenhagen Waterworks

The Copenhagen Waterworks was the first waterworks in Denmark and served the community until 1951. It was one of the first buildings to be built outside Copenhagen's old city walls.
