Penisimani Ikahui Motu’apuaka was born in 1846, in Fahefa, Tongatapu, Tonga as the son of Siosifa Motu'apuaka. He married 'Olivia Lupe Tauveli in 1876. They were the parents of at least 2 sons and 3 daughters. He died on 5 July 1910, in his hometown, at the age of 64, and was buried in Fahefa, Tongatapu, Tonga.
