When George Kitch was born on 29 January 1826, in Allegheny, Pennsylvania, United States, his father, Jacob Kitch, was 31 and his mother, Mary Winnings, was 29. He married Mary Elizabeth Younker on 22 February 1852. They were the parents of at least 6 sons and 7 daughters. He lived in Marion Township, Henry, Iowa, United States for about 30 years. He died on 14 January 1903, in Henry, Iowa, United States, at the age of 76, and was buried in Hickory Grove Cemetery, Henry, Iowa, United States.
