When Peter Mani was born in March 1707, in Höfen, Bern, Switzerland, his father, Johannes Mani, was 23 and his mother, Barbara Neuenschwander, was 22. He married Susanna Kohli on 10 December 1740, in Aubonne, Vaud, Switzerland. They were the parents of at least 6 sons and 2 daughters. He died on 17 May 1773, in Schwenden, Diemtigen, Bern, Switzerland, at the age of 66, and was buried in Diemtigen, Bern, Switzerland.
