He married Elizabeth Freeman on 11 October 1894, in Wymore, Gage, Nebraska, United States. They were the parents of at least 5 sons and 8 daughters. He lived in Franklin Township, Richardson, Nebraska, United States in 1885 and Delaware Township, Jefferson, Kansas, United States in 1910. He died on 21 September 1957, in San Lorenzo, Alameda, California, United States, at the age of 92, and was buried in Hayward, Alameda, California, United States.
