When Loreto Parra was born on 18 September 1889, in Casas Grandes, Chihuahua, Mexico, her father, Cosme Parra Padilla, was 55 and her mother, Blasa Miranda Peru, was 39. She married Elmer Nephi Thayne on 19 August 1909, in San Antonio de Padua, Casas Grandes, Chihuahua, Mexico. They were the parents of at least 2 sons and 5 daughters. She died on 11 November 1970, in Colonia Dublán, Nuevo Casas Grandes, Chihuahua, Mexico, at the age of 81, and was buried in Utah, United States.

1891 · The Garza Revolution

The Garza Revolution was a conflict fought between the residents of Coahuila and Texas. It began when a campaign to start an uprising against Porfirio Diaz. Even though it was a minor conflict, it is seen as a precursor to the Mexican Revolution.

1896 · Utah Becomes a State

After three prior attempts to become a state, the United States Congress accepted Utah into the Union on one condition. This condition was that the new state rewrite their constitution to say that all forms of polygamy were banned. The territory agreed, and Utah became a state on January 4, 1896.

1911

Rebellion spreads throughout Mexico. After attack on Ciudad Juárez, Díaz resigns. Madero returns in triumph to Mexico City and is elected to presidency. Emiliano Zapata publishes Plan of Ayala demanding quick reforms.
