1804 · The Twelfth Amendment

With not having a very clear statement in the Constitution about Presidents and Vice Presidents, the Twelfth Amendment was Born. Before the Electoral College could cast two votes for those that they saw fit for President. This was changed to just one electoral vote for President and one electoral vote for Vice President. With the amount of people even allowed to vote, there was no way for there to be a tie during the elections.

With the Aftermath of the Napoleonic Wars the global market for trade was down. During this time, America had its first financial crisis and it lasted for only two years.

English (Kent): habitational name from Crittenden or from a lost place called Cruttenden in Headcorn (both in Kent). The former is named with the Old English personal name Gūthhere + Old English -ing- denoting association with + Old English denn ‘woodland pasture’.

History: The statesman John Jordan Crittenden, who was born near Versailles, KY, in 1787, was of Welsh descent on his father's side. His immigrant ancestor arrived in VA before 1650. His father, a major in the American Revolution, moved from VA to KY and settled in Woodford Co.
