When William Skiles was born about 1771, in Pennsylvania, United States, his father, Henry Skyles III, was 23 and his mother, Mary Creighton, was 26. He married Martha Hamilton on 18 October 1797. They were the parents of at least 3 sons. He died on 22 June 1818, in Warren, Kentucky, United States, at the age of 48, and was buried in Warren, Kentucky, United States.

1786 · Shays' Rebellion

Caused by war veteran Daniel Shays, Shays' Rebellion was to protest economic and civil rights injustices that he and other farmers were seeing after the Revolutionary War. Because of the Rebellion it opened the eyes of the governing officials that the Articles of Confederation needed a reform. The Rebellion served as a guardrail when helping reform the United States Constitution.
