When 'Anaseini Langi Makaafi was born on 16 August 1921, in Tongamama`o, Niuafoʻou, Tonga, her father, Sione Topenilifi Makaafi Langi, was 39 and her mother, Mele Veapoha Finau, was 35. She married Solomone Mataiasi Mala'efo'ou in 1944, in Tongamama`o, Niuafoʻou, Tonga. They were the parents of at least 1 son. She died on 18 March 1997, in 'Eua, Tonga, at the age of 75, and was buried in 'Eua, Tonga.
