King Canute is declared ruler of Denmark, England and Norway.
From 1662-2007, Denmark’s counties (Amts) existed for the entire country. The Lutheran Parish records are organized into TABS in the following manner: TAB 1. 1662-1793 – Parish records dates were added according to when record keeping began for each parish. TAB ONE includes original county (Amt) names (1662). Example: Aidt, Dronningborg, (old county), Denmark TAB 2. 1794-1970– Counties (Amt) were renamed in 1794, but boundaries changed little. Additionally, minor jurisdictional districts called “Herrods” were created and each one included multiple parishes. Every “herrod” has a specific name which is added to the name descriptions in TAB TWO. Parish records for time periods ONE and TWO are found in TABS ONE and TWO. Example (TAB 2): Aidt, Houlbjerg,(herrod), Viborg,(new county), Denmark TAB 3. 1971-2007 – County (Amt) numbers were reduced from 23 to 13 in 1970, although the parish registers remain consistent within the TAB ONE and TWO time periods to 2002 - 2007. variant of Anne , in common use as a given name in most European languages. Among people with a classical education, it has from time to time been associated with Virgil's Aeneid, where it is borne by the sister of Dido , Queen of Carthage. This Phoenician name may ultimately be of Semitic origin, and thus related to the biblical Anne. However, the connection, if it exists, is indirect rather than direct.
