When Fridolin Jenny was born on 5 February 1819, in Ennenda, Glarus, Switzerland, his father, Fridolin Jenny, was 25 and his mother, Amalia Hoesli, was 25. He married Elsbeth Leuzinger on 5 October 1847. They were the parents of at least 2 sons and 1 daughter. He died on 8 March 1880, in his hometown, at the age of 61.
