She married Tormod Torjussen Ropeid on 25 June 1758, in Sand, Rogaland, Norway. They were the parents of at least 3 sons and 7 daughters. She lived in Jelsa, Rogaland, Norway in 1801. She died on 22 November 1804, in Sand, Rogaland, Norway, at the age of 74.

1736 · Confirmation & education

Law of 1736 legally established Confirmation in the Lutheran Church which led to organized education for all children. These became important records which the Pastor kept.

1739 · Universal schooling

First school law to begin universal schooling in Norway. They taught the subjects of Christianity, reading, writing, arithmetic. Compulsory schooling from the age of seven and at least until ten to twelve years old.

1801 · 1801 Norwegian Census

It listed all family members living on each farm. Also those living in the cities.

From an Old Norse female personal name composed of the name of the fertility god Ing + fríðr ‘fair, beautiful’. It was introduced into the English-speaking world from Scandinavia in the 20th century and became very popular, largely because of the fame of the Swedish film actress Ingrid Bergman ( 1915–82 ).
