He married Lucy Davis about 1810, in Virginia, United States. He died on 17 February 1857, in his hometown, at the age of 71, and was buried in Rectortown, Fauquier, Virginia, United States.

1786 · Shays' Rebellion

Caused by war veteran Daniel Shays, Shays' Rebellion was to protest economic and civil rights injustices that he and other farmers were seeing after the Revolutionary War. Because of the Rebellion it opened the eyes of the governing officials that the Articles of Confederation needed a reform. The Rebellion served as a guardrail when helping reform the United States Constitution.

1788 · Becomes the 10th state

On June 25, 1788 Virginia became the 10th state. 


Lewis and Clark set out from St. Louis, MO to explore the West.
