He married Ann McHenry on 21 January 1797, in Shelby, Kentucky, United States. They were the parents of at least 5 sons and 2 daughters. He lived in Montgomery, Indiana, United States in 1830 and Clark Township, Johnson, Indiana, United States for about 10 years. He died on 18 September 1862, in Whiteland, Pleasant Township, Johnson, Indiana, United States, at the age of 93, and was buried in McClain Cemetery, Carter, Tennessee, United States.
