When Willis A McDaniel was born on 18 March 1888, in Buford, Gwinnett, Georgia, United States, his father, Zadock McDaniel, was 37 and his mother, Milchie Pirkle, was 34. He married Lydia Brandt on 13 November 1909, in Winnebago, Illinois, United States. He lived in Hog Mountain, Gwinnett, Georgia, United States in 1900 and Gomel, Belarus in 1963. He died in March 1970, in Kansas City, Jackson, Missouri, United States, at the age of 82.

1889 · The first Skyscraper in Detroit
The Hammond Building was a high-rise building completed in 1889 and was 151 feet tall. It's considered the first skyscraper in the city and was the tallest in Michigan after it was built. The Hammond Building was demolished in 1956 to make way for the National Bank of Detroit Building.
