Brief Life History of Eleazer

When Eleazer Hibbard was born on 27 November 1795, in Yarmouth, Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada, his father, Eleazar Hibbard, was 23 and his mother, Frances Hilton, was 17. He married Martha Corning in 1817, in Yarmouth, Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada. They were the parents of at least 2 sons and 1 daughter. He immigrated to United States in 1853. He died on 5 August 1861, at the age of 65, and was buried in Acacia Cemetery, Ozone Park, Queens, New York City, New York, United States.

1797 · Albany is Named Capital of New York

Albany became the capital of New York in 1797. Albany is the oldest continuous settlement of the original 13 colonies.

1800 · Movement to Washington D.C.

While the growth of the new nation was exponential, the United States didn’t have permanent location to house the Government. The First capital was temporary in New York City but by the second term of George Washington the Capital moved to Philadelphia for the following 10 years. Ultimately during the Presidency of John Adams, the Capital found a permanent home in the District of Columbia.

Name Meaning

English: variant of Hilbert with assimilation of lb to b(b). The name may sometimes also have been confused with Hibbett . Post-medieval examples may alternatively be variants of Hebbert, a variant of Herbert . The two surnames were probably much confused and sometimes used interchangeably.
