He married Taeulavao Papalii Fonoti Fatu on 8 March 1919. They were the parents of at least 7 sons and 5 daughters. He died on 27 February 1935, in Lepa, Atua, Upolu, Samoa, at the age of 51, and was buried in Samoa.
