When 'Akosita Tae Nau was born in 1884, in Kolomotu'a, Tongatapu, Tonga, her father, Solomone Nau Finau, was 23 and her mother, Mele Vavahea Tangataolakepa, was 19. She married Filimone Lilo Tu'itupou in 1919, in Pangai, Ha'apai, Tonga. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 4 daughters. She died in 1964, in her hometown, at the age of 80, and was buried in Kolomotu'a, Tongatapu, Tonga.
