When Jacob Nielsen was born on 20 March 1609, in Solbjerg, Ålborghus, Denmark, his father, Niels, was 32 and his mother, Mrs. Niels, was 28. He married Dorethe Laursdatter about 1646, in Øster Korup, Solbjerg, Ålborghus, Denmark. They were the parents of at least 3 sons and 3 daughters. He died on 4 May 1698, at the age of 89, and was buried in Solbjerg, Ålborghus, Denmark.
