When Eric Olsson was born in 1800, in Nordanåker, Dalarna, Sweden, his father, Olla Olof Jonsson, was 45 and his mother, Marit Matsdotter, was 39. He married Marit Olsdotter on 3 June 1832, in Malung, Kopparberg, Sweden. They were the parents of at least 7 sons and 1 daughter. He died on 2 March 1853, at the age of 53.
