When John Andersson was born on 22 September 1817, in Brålanda, Älvsborg, Sweden, his father, Anders Eriksson, was 23 and his mother, Maria Olofsdotter, was 23. He married Maria Jacobsdotter on 24 December 1840. He lived in Grantsville, Tooele, Utah, United States in 1870. He died on 14 July 1902, at the age of 84, and was buried in Grantsville City Cemetery, Grantsville, Tooele, Utah, United States.
