When Dorthe Mogensdatter was born on 7 June 1705, in Bodilsker, Bornholm, Denmark, her father, Mogens Pedersen, was 36 and her mother, Kirstine Mortensdatter Wibe, was 36. She married Morten Jacobsen Wibe on 14 February 1734, in Bodilsker, Bornholm, Denmark. They were the parents of at least 2 sons and 1 daughter. She died in 1761, in her hometown, at the age of 56, and was buried in Bodilsker, Bornholm, Denmark.

The Royal Danish Military Academy educated and commissioned all officers for the Royal Danish Army. The Military Academy function was initiated in 1713 by request of King Frederick IV on inspiration from the Naval Academy.
