When Dirk Udo was born on 12 February 1826, in Heerewaarden, Gelderland, Netherlands, his father, Hendrikus Gerritszn Udo, was 36 and his mother, Metje Ton, was 33. He married Willemijntje van Lith on 24 August 1853, in Heerewaarden, Gelderland, Netherlands. They were the parents of at least 4 sons. He died on 20 January 1907, in his hometown, at the age of 80.
