When Delilah Hughes was born on 14 August 1810, in Evans, Jackson, West Virginia, United States, her father, William Jonathan Hughes, was 24 and her mother, Rebecca Staats, was 15. She married Benjamin Sayre on 1 January 1828, in Mason, West Virginia, United States. They were the parents of at least 1 son. She lived in Prairie Creek Township, Vigo, Indiana, United States in 1860 and Indiana, United States in 1870. She died on 13 January 1879, in Prairieton Township, Vigo, Indiana, United States, at the age of 68, and was buried in Hall Cemetery, Darwin Township, Clark, Illinois, United States.
