When Elin Olofsdotter was born on 22 April 1769, in Skärstad, Jönköping, Sweden, her father, Olof Johansson, was 24 and her mother, Ingrid Pehrsdotter, was 28. She married Måns Nilsson on 9 June 1793, in Skärstad, Jönköping, Sweden. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 6 daughters. She died on 6 May 1849, in her hometown, at the age of 80, and was buried in Skärstad, Jönköping, Sweden.
