He married Maria Juliana Dupre on 21 November 1802, in Hermeskeil, Trier-Saarburg, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. They were the parents of at least 2 sons and 3 daughters. He died about 1860, in Muhl, Neuhütten, Trier-Saarburg, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, at the age of 82.
