When John Niday was born in 1799, in Virginia, United States, his father, Peter Von Nida, was 22 and his mother, Elizabeth Shuck, was 20. He married Sarah Harless on 23 October 1818, in Giles, Virginia, United States. They were the parents of at least 7 sons and 6 daughters. He lived in Mahaska, Iowa, United States in 1850 and Benton Township, Wayne, Iowa, United States in 1860. He died in April 1867, in Corydon, Wayne, Iowa, United States, at the age of 68, and was buried in Rush Cemetery, Cambria, Wayne, Iowa, United States.

1800 · Movement to Washington D.C.

While the growth of the new nation was exponential, the United States didn’t have permanent location to house the Government. The First capital was temporary in New York City but by the second term of George Washington the Capital moved to Philadelphia for the following 10 years. Ultimately during the Presidency of John Adams, the Capital found a permanent home in the District of Columbia.

1812 · Monumental Church Built

The Monumental Church was built between 1812-1814 on the sight where the Richmond Theatre fire had taken place. It is a monument to those that died in the fire.

1819 · Panic! of 1819

With the Aftermath of the Napoleonic Wars the global market for trade was down. During this time, America had its first financial crisis and it lasted for only two years.
