He married Marita Margta Ersdotter on 7 October 1783, in Knutby, Stockholm, Sweden. They were the parents of at least 3 sons and 6 daughters. He died on 6 November 1810, in his hometown, at the age of 67, and was buried in Knutby, Stockholm, Sweden.
