When David Callister was born on 26 October 1760, in Malew, Isle of Man, his father, David Callister, was 25 and his mother, Isabel Clucas, was 20. He married Esther Comish on 18 February 1792, in Arbory, Isle of Man. They were the parents of at least 6 sons and 2 daughters. He died on 29 March 1828, in Peel, Isle of Man, at the age of 67, and was buried in Kirk German, Isle of Man.
