Martin Granade was born in 1802, in Warren, Georgia, United States as the son of James Granade and Catherine Smith. He married Anna Sanders on 6 December 1827, in Warren, Georgia, United States. They were the parents of at least 3 sons and 4 daughters. He lived in Columbia, Georgia, United States in 1860 and District 134, Columbia, Georgia, United States in 1870. He died on 15 March 1878, at the age of 76, and was buried in Boneville, McDuffie, Georgia, United States.

1803 · Gerogia's First Land Lottery

Georgia’s first land lottery act was signed by Governor John Milledge. The first drawings for the land lottery were held two years later in 1805.

1825 · The Crimes Act

The Crimes Act was made to provide a clearer punishment of certain crimes against the United States. Part of it includes: Changing the maximum sentence of imprisonment to be increased from seven to ten years and changing the maximum fine from $5,000 to $10,000.
