When George Washington Alley was born on 27 April 1864, in Lawrence, Kentucky, United States, his father, William Thomas Alley, was 32 and his mother, Rebecca Williams, was 27. He married Mary Elizabeth Fraley on 13 May 1878, in Floyd, Pulaski, Kentucky, United States. They were the parents of at least 2 sons. He lived in Martin, Kentucky, United States in 1935 and Magisterial District 6, Pike, Kentucky, United States in 1940. He died on 20 February 1945, in McVeigh, Pike, Kentucky, United States, at the age of 80, and was buried in Warfield, Martin, Kentucky, United States.

Abraham Lincoln is assassinated by John Wilkes Booth.

1865 · The Assassination of a President

"While attending the play ""Our American Cousin"" in Ford's Theatre, actor John Wilkes Booth climbed up the stairs to the suite that President Abraham Lincoln and his wife resided. Once inside the suite Booth pulled out his pistol and shot The President in the head. In critical condition The President was carried out of the theatre for urgent medical attention. Unfortunately, Lincoln died the following day. Abraham Lincoln was the first American president to be assassinated, and his death caused a period of national mourning both in the North and South."
