When Nicolai Severin Mörk was born on 4 July 1833, in Skien, Telemark, Norway, his father, Niels Abraham Mørch, was 41 and his mother, Marta Larsdatter, was 39. He married Oline Marie Sivertsen Berg on 1 December 1859, in Skien, Telemark, Norway. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 7 daughters. He died on 3 July 1905, in his hometown, at the age of 71.
