When William Stephenson was born on 8 September 1796, in Virginia, United States, his father, Isaac Stevenson, was 34 and his mother, Judah Kendall, was 25. He married Elizabeth Beall on 25 September 1817, in Winchester, Clark, Kentucky, United States. They were the parents of at least 2 sons and 3 daughters. He lived in Marion Township, Hendricks, Indiana, United States for about 20 years. He died on 5 February 1874, in Hendricks, Indiana, United States, at the age of 77, and was buried in New Winchester, Marion Township, Hendricks, Indiana, United States.

1800 · Movement to Washington D.C.

While the growth of the new nation was exponential, the United States didn’t have permanent location to house the Government. The First capital was temporary in New York City but by the second term of George Washington the Capital moved to Philadelphia for the following 10 years. Ultimately during the Presidency of John Adams, the Capital found a permanent home in the District of Columbia.

1812 · Monumental Church Built

The Monumental Church was built between 1812-1814 on the sight where the Richmond Theatre fire had taken place. It is a monument to those that died in the fire.

1819 · Panic! of 1819

With the Aftermath of the Napoleonic Wars the global market for trade was down. During this time, America had its first financial crisis and it lasted for only two years.
