When Johann Jakob Schedel was born on 11 September 1752, in Kornwestheim, Ludwigsburg, Baden-Württemberg, Germany, his father, Leonhard Schedel, was 50 and his mother, Anna Maria Wanner, was 48. He married Elisabeth Suter on 5 October 1779. They were the parents of at least 2 sons. He died on 2 November 1812, in Zürich, Zürich, Switzerland, at the age of 60.
