She married Josiah Frederick Simmons on 3 February 1849, in Richland, Ohio, United States. They were the parents of at least 3 sons and 8 daughters. She died on 9 March 1910, in her hometown, at the age of 83, and was buried in Morrow, Ohio, United States.

1830 · The Second Great Awakening
Being a second spiritual and religious awakening, like the First Great Awakening, many Churches began to spring up from other denominations. Many people began to rapidly join the Baptist and Methodist congregations. Many converts to these religions believed that the Awakening was the precursor of a new millennial age.
1836 · Kirtland Temple Dedicated
On March 27, 1836, the Kirtland Temple was dedicated.
1860 · Ohio supports the Union side of the Civil War
Although divided as a state on the subject of slavery, Ohio participated in the Civil War on the Union's side, providing over 300,000 troops. Ohio provided the 3rd largest number of troops by any Union state.
