When Setita Latu Manavahetofu Kaumavae was born in 1867, in Ha`ateiho, Tongatapu, Tonga, her father, Siope Lipoi Kaumavae, was 27 and her mother, Levaʻai Anuanu ki Fakafeatu Lotoaniu, was 18. She married Amato Amaieli or Kapelieli Punoukihihifo in 1889, in Ha`ateiho, Tongatapu, Tonga. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 4 daughters. She died about 1951, in her hometown, at the age of 85.
