When Johann Gottfried Weidhaase was born on 28 April 1822, in Prussia, Germany, his father, Johann Christoph Weidhaase, was 25 and his mother, Johanna Christiana Klette, was 31. He married Johanna Christiana Heiland on 5 July 1853, in Werdau, Kreis Zwickauer Land, Saxony, Germany. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 2 daughters. He died on 25 March 1866, at the age of 43.
