When Lydia Ordway was born on 9 June 1731, in Haverhill, Essex, Massachusetts, United States, her father, Joseph Ordway, was 23 and her mother, Mehitable Burbank, was 19. She married Lt Jacob Straw about 1759, in Hopkinton, New Hampshire, British Colonial America. They were the parents of at least 6 sons and 7 daughters. She died on 5 November 1815, in Hopkinton, Merrimack, New Hampshire, United States, at the age of 84, and was buried in Contoocook, Merrimack, New Hampshire, United States.
