He married Sarah Inskip on 12 January 1843, in Miami, Ohio, United States. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 2 daughters. He lived in Howard, Elk, Kansas, United States in 1875 and Union Center Township, Elk, Kansas, United States in 1880. He died on 11 March 1882, in Union Centre, Elk, Kansas, United States, at the age of 60, and was buried in Howard, Elk, Kansas, United States.

1825 · The Crimes Act

The Crimes Act was made to provide a clearer punishment of certain crimes against the United States. Part of it includes: Changing the maximum sentence of imprisonment to be increased from seven to ten years and changing the maximum fine from $5,000 to $10,000.

1830 · The Second Great Awakening

Being a second spiritual and religious awakening, like the First Great Awakening, many Churches began to spring up from other denominations. Many people began to rapidly join the Baptist and Methodist congregations. Many converts to these religions believed that the Awakening was the precursor of a new millennial age.
