When Ruth Headly was born on 4 October 1803, her father, Henry Hedley, was 30 and her mother, Priscilla Cory, was 21. She married Isaac S Cory on 2 March 1825, in First Baptist Church, Newport, Newport, Rhode Island, United States. They were the parents of at least 2 sons and 6 daughters. She died on 1 February 1860, in Portsmouth, Newport, Rhode Island, United States, at the age of 56, and was buried in Portsmouth, Newport, Rhode Island, United States.

Lewis and Clark set out from St. Louis, MO to explore the West.
1811 · USS Revenge
On January 9, 1811, the USS Revenge hits a reef off of Watch Hill, Rhode Island. The load the ship is carrying is handed off to other ships and the USS Revenge is tied down by tow ropes. It brakes free from the ropes and later sinks. In 2011 divers find what are believed to be the remains of the ship.
