When Hans Eicher was born on 27 December 1789, in Riggisberg, Bern, Switzerland, his father, Johannes Eicher, was 41 and his mother, Maria Von Niederhausern, was 36. He married Christina Keusen on 5 June 1816. They were the parents of at least 3 sons and 1 daughter. He died on 1 January 1861, at the age of 71.
