When Johannes Pedersen was born in 1758, in Luster, Sogn og Fjordane, Norway, his father, Peder Pedersen, was 42 and his mother, Martha Olsdotter, was 42. He married Britha Olsdotter on 13 May 1798, in Gaupne, Luster, Sogn og Fjordane, Norway. He died in 1827, at the age of 69.
