When Erlendur Einarsson was born in 1748, in Stóramörk, Rangárvallasýsla, Southern, Iceland, his father, Einar Gislason, was 35 and his mother, Kristin Eiriksdottir, was 37. He married Rannveig Olafsdottir about 1787, in Steinar, Rangárvallasýsla, Southern, Iceland. He died on 15 May 1818, at the age of 70.
