He married Jeane Law on 22 December 1811, in Cambridge Township, Guernsey, Ohio, United States. They were the parents of at least 8 sons and 4 daughters. He lived in Washington, Washington, Iowa, United States in 1850. He died on 1 February 1860, in Lexington, Washington, Iowa, United States, at the age of 73, and was buried in Woodlawn Cemetery, Washington, Iowa, United States.
