When Aleva Silipa was born in 1870, in Kolovai, Tongatapu, Tonga, her father, Tevita Aleva, was 31 and her mother, Meleane Ta'anga, was 18. She married Alekisio Sofilino Uia in 1889, in Nuku'alofa, Tongatapu, Tonga. They were the parents of at least 3 sons and 6 daughters. She died about 1918, in Matahau, Tongatapu, Tonga, at the age of 49, and was buried in Kolovai, Tongatapu, Tonga.
