He married Sarah Francis on 4 March 1790, in New Britain, Hartford, Connecticut, United States. They were the parents of at least 6 sons and 3 daughters. He died on 2 July 1829, at the age of 67, and was buried in New Britain, Hartford, Connecticut, United States.
