He married Mary Cherry on 1 April 1824, in Campbell, Kentucky, United States. They were the parents of at least 6 sons and 5 daughters. He died on 28 April 1863, in Peach Grove, Pendleton, Kentucky, United States, at the age of 63, and was buried in Old Peach Grove Cemetery, Peach Grove, Pendleton, Kentucky, United States.
