John Lilburn Wilkinson was born about 1790, in Nelson, Kentucky, United States as the son of Nicholas Norborne Wilkinson. He married Polly Dean Phillips on 27 January 1829, in Washington, Kentucky, United States. They were the parents of at least 1 daughter. He died on 19 August 1865, at the age of 76, and was buried in Lincoln, Missouri, United States.
