He lived in Mercer, Mercer, Missouri, United States in 1850 and Decatur Township, Decatur, Iowa, United States for about 20 years. He registered for military service in 1862. In 1880, at the age of 59, his occupation is listed as farmer. He died on 15 February 1896, in Morrow, Oregon, United States, at the age of 74, and was buried in Gooseberry Cemetery, Gooseberry, Morrow, Oregon, United States.

1825 · The Crimes Act

The Crimes Act was made to provide a clearer punishment of certain crimes against the United States. Part of it includes: Changing the maximum sentence of imprisonment to be increased from seven to ten years and changing the maximum fine from $5,000 to $10,000.

1830 · Louisville and Portland Canal Opens

The Louisville and Portland canal opened in 1830. It was a 2 mile canal. It helped with the barrier caused by the Falls of the Ohio River at Louisville by making a route around them.
