When Sarah Admire was born in 1762, in Rowan, North Carolina, British Colonial America, her father, George Admire Sr, was 37 and her mother, Maria Margaretha Kuhn, was 33. She married William Bailey Williams in 1780. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 4 daughters. She died in 1804, in Henry, Kentucky, United States, at the age of 42.

Built on August 26, 1767, the Tryon Palace became the capitol building for North Carolina. The building was named after William Tryon a British officer and colonial official.

Americanized form of an unidentified German surname, possibly South German or Austrian Ettmayer or Edmaier, which is a topographic name for a farmer living near or on previously uncultivated land, from the noun Ed ‘uncultivated land’ + mayer, meyer ‘farmer’; see Meyer . Alternatively, it may be an Americanized form of North German Erdmeier, literally ‘earth farmer’.
